With a population of more than 1 Mio people, Cologne is the largest city in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, and is listed on rank 4 in entire Germany behind Berlin, Hamburg and Munich. It is not only an important location for business, congresses and trade fairs, but has as well an own charm created by the colorful mixture of different cultures and the typical "Rhenish" mentality, which you should experience when visiting the region.
Driving the car doesn't realy make sense; better take the train and you will be in the heart of the city - the Cologne cathedral - in less than 45 minutes. This is the town's landmark and one of the most popular sights in entire Germany. Among the shades of the Dome, you can find the Roman Germanic museum and the most famous museum of the city: the museum Ludwig, which contains the world-wide third largest collection of the artist Picasso.
When searching a sensual experience, then look out for the well-known "Eau de Cologne" and either visit the house "Altstadt-Farina" or of course the 4711 perfume store. Further beautiful parts of Cologne can be explored at the promenade of the river Rhine, the botanic garden and the "Flora". A must do is a sightseeing tour, if possible combined with a brewhouse tour in order to deep dive into the local brewery tradition.....
